Something happens to my father sometimes during drinking liquid or laughing. He becomes suddenly red and unconscious even his breath stops. We have to push his heart hardly and sprinkle water to bring his breath again and make him conscious. He has visited many cario and neuro specialist but all in vain. Reports were normal. They said that they can only judge if they see live situation. This rarely happens. Only while drinking or laughing. It has happened 8-10 times in his life. What should he do?

It is fainting attack due to stimulation of a specific nerve while laughing. Which last for a short period and recovers at its own. Though this may be very uncomfortable at the tine of attack but not to worry much. He can be investigated to rule out any ailment. Get BP, blood sugar, lipid profile, KFT LFT. Ecg. TMT, uric acid, thyroid profile T3 T4 tsh, intimate results on private chat for proper assessment.
