Hello ma'am /sir. Please advise I am 5thmonth 1 week (21 week) pregnant lady nd hypothyroid patient. So I am taking thyronorm 50 mcg as advised by doctor. But now also in second trimester my tsh level is 5.24.my sugar fasting is 115nd random130. Hemoglobin is 10.4.according the ultrasound my baby weight is 415gram in 21 week. Please advise everything is normal. We are enclosing report for better understanding.

Your thyronorm dose should be increased. You should use some iron and folic acid capsules. Strict sugar control is required. Check sugar daily and if needed insulin should be started under physician guidence. Do not worry all these problems are common in pregnancy. Will settle down after delivery.

You need to increase the dose of thyronorm since upper normal level of TSH during pregnancy is 2.5. Kindly do so under the supervision of the Endocrinologists. Beyond 12 weeks of pregnancy fetus's thyroid functions independent of mother's thyroid. So fetus is not likely to be harmed due to present dose that the patient is taking.
