lybrate-user, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis leads to hypothyroidism. Some people may have hypothyroidism directly because of either iodine deficiency or some thing affecting the thyroid function, which causes thyroxine deficiency. HT is an autoimmune disease, which damages thyroid gland and thyroxine producing cells are destroyed leading to hypothyroidism. Ultimately there is hypothyroidism. Treatment is same. Thanks.
