Dear lybrate user, maintenance of good oral hygiene is more important than their color. Sometimes, the inherent/natural color of teeth is a little on the yellowish side. Toothpaste just provides freshness and acts as a foaming agent to brush your teeth; it can't change the color of your teeth. The stains on teeth due to over consumption of coffee (spl'ly black coffee), wine, smoking etc can however be removed by professional cleaning/scaling treatment. If you're not satisfied with the color of your teeth, you can go for teeth-whitening treatments like tooth-bleaching, zoom whitening etc.

The shade of our teeth is Genetic .like the shade of the skin .All the pastes etc help to remove any stains or discououration due to staining foodstuff ON the teeth but do not alter the basic shade of the teeth. Its like if we have brown skin it will stay brown .having a bath will keep it clean .but having a bath 3 or 4 times will not make us fairer. To Lighten the original shade of the teeth you need to get them bleached /Whitened .which can be done professionaly by a dentist to enhance the colour and make it a few shades whiter. Contact your neighbourhood dentist and he /She willl be able to help in this regards. Till them keep brushing twice to keep your teeth clean and healthy.

For better looking teeth, the first and most important thing is that you teeth should be clean, and free from plaque (accumulated food debris) and stains. For that, you must get professional scaling/cleaning done from a dentist. After that, you can head for tooth whitening procedures such as bleaching and laser tooth whitening. Home remedies such as lemon peel and apple cider vinegar can be used, but being acidic in nature, they eventually wear off the outermost layer of teeth (enamel) making them weak in the long run. So better go for trusted scientific procedures. Hope that helps.
