Tooth abscess can be defined as a pocket of pus that is generally found at the root of the tooth or between the gum and the tooth. This condition is caused by a painful bacterial infection, brought about by factors such as a high sugar diet, tooth decay or poor dental care. A person suffering from this condition should visit a dentist immediately for medical care, in order to prevent the disease from spreading to other areas of the body.
HOW IS TOOTH ABSCESS DIAGNOSED?
If left untreated, an affected person may develop a life-threatening infection that spreads to other parts of the body, called sepsis.
