Had an extra shot of rabies vaccine. I had a suspected dog scratch on my hand and so for that I consulted a doctor and he decided to give me 5 booster shots on days 0,3,7,14 and 28. I told him that I had taken 5 shots a year ago still he told me to take 5 shots instead of 2 and I agreed. Then after 3 shots, on the day of 4th injection, doctor's office was closed so I decided to go to the govt. Hospital and took 4th injection from there but then on the next day, I was skeptical about the effectiveness of the shot I took from govt. Hospital so I took another shot from the same doctor only. I told him that I had an extra shot yesterday, he said that it won't harm me but it was unnecessary. Please advise me. Is one extra dose going to cancel the effectiveness of earlier vaccines?
