Dear lybrate user, thank you for writing to us. I can understand your concern about medication's effectiveness for curing your anxiety. Petril (clonazepam) is used to treat anxiety disorders. It is proven effective drug for anxiety. Sleep disturbance is one of the symptoms of anxiety disorder. There are other primary anti anxiety medications like ssri, snri and tca. There is a strong scientific research evidence for these medicines for anxiety treatment. Pertil should preferably not to be continued for more than 6-8 weeks. Discuss this with your treating psychiatrist. Regards.
