Alcohol has empty calories. That means that alcohol doesn't have any nutrients like proteins, vitamins, minerals etc. That is the reason, one shouldn't drink alcohol or beer. Moreover, drinking alcohol impacts the liver and excessive drinking can even cause permanent damage or scarring. So, if you don't consume alcohol, its better not to start it. But if you do, then switch to low-alcohol or have an alcohol-free drink and have it in moderation.

There is no black or white, good or bad in the food/drinks we consume. We are so obsessed by trying to incorporate good in our lifestyle. Beer is a good diuretic, so it may help in flushing out in urine infections and kidney stones but obviously it is an insult to liver and reduces the ph of our system making it more acidic. Though much less than the hard liquor. Drink beer for'high" and not for health:) do.
