But only when have to go outside for example to grocery store or to any place other than home. Or can benzos be taken sos whenever going out. Which is better option? Please guide.

Hi. This seems like agoraphobia to me where the person is avoiding going outside. Grounding techniques such as calming affirmations, reciting a song, or describing objects around them can help in the long run. He might need assistance from a therapist and his social circle to overcome his concern. Cbt and exposure techniques can help him change his distressing thoughts and induce calm. It depends on how frequently the person encounters the anxiety provoking situation, if it is going to be weekly once, least sedative anxiolytic benzos can be helpful, if more frequent than that to avoid the long term harmful effect of benzos, it will be better to take regular ssris. Good luck.

General principle in case of anxiety is that if it is mild to moderate and situational only, then better to go for counselling or cognitive behavior therapy. If anxiety is severe then it requires treatment with medications under guidance of a psychiatrist. Strictly don't self medicate.
