levothyroxine is like the natural hormone, most often very well tolerated. Some patients occasionally complain of side effects like headaches, sleep problems, feeling of irritability and nervous, fever, hot flushes, sweating, increased heart beat, palpitation, menstrual period changes and appetite changes and weight changes. These effects usually subside on long term usage. If allergy occurs, drug may have to be discontinued. But by and large I have not come across any patient with such side effects so far. Thanks for the question.
