A dog sneezed near my legs. After 1 hour I got hit by a iron rod below knee basically a small wound blood coming. Does it cause rabies? I mean does rabies survive on my skin and enter into cut which happened after 1-1.30 hour of dog sneezing? Please answer I am tensed!

The symptoms of contracting rabies are non specific. There is no laboratory test which detects actual transmission of rabies. Under circumstanced described are extremely unusual where dog must have rabies. The aerosol like transmission should have rabies virus. This virus should enter blood circulation and affect nerve endings etc. But at the same time there is no fool proof method of scientifically ruling out transmission with proof. My person opinion under the circumstances is to take full rabies exposure treatment of 5 injections at the earliest and forget about the incident. Consult local general surgeon for opinion.
