If you have completed the recommended course of rabies vaccine before the incident occurred, then you may not need to get vaccinated again. However, if there is any doubt about whether the puppy licked your open wound, it is always better to err on the side of caution and consult a healthcare professional or local public health authorities for further guidance. They may recommend post-exposure prophylaxis (pep), which involves a series of shots to prevent rabies infection after a potential exposure. Pep is most effective when given as soon as possible after exposure, so it is important to seek medical attention promptly. It's worth noting that rabies is a serious disease that is almost always fatal once symptoms develop. Therefore, it is important to take all potential exposures seriously and follow the recommended guidelines for preventing and treating rabies.
