You can take water how much ever you want, that does not cause any problem to your kidneys, but you should take intermittently in a day rather than taking at a time.

Dear lybrateuser, -drinking about a litre of water on empty stomach early morning is fine & beneficial also but to avoid putting load on the kidneys at your age it is advisable to drink it slowly over a period of time rather than gulping the whole quantity in one go.
