Hello sir/madam, I am supritha from karnataka. I have a query about my nephew's boy baby. He is 9 months and 11 days old now. He never consumed breast milk, just for a month he consumed breast milk, so we fed him millet. Approximate when he was 7 months old he was about 66 cm in height, so we gave him pediasure. Total he consumed 600 grams of pediasure, approximate he consumed pediasure for 1 and 1/2 month, now he is 9 months 11 days old, and his height is 73 cm, that pediasure was about for 2+ years kids. He has been suffering from fever for the past 1 week and stretching his body 6-7 times just in a minute. We gave him paracetamol 500 mg, where we divided the tablet into 4 parts and gave him 4 hours once but the fever didn't decrease. So we consulted a nearby doctor, we never informed them about the pediasure consumption near the doctor, but because of the fever (102) they admitted the baby to the hospital and they suggested 'meftagesic-ds' and 'meftal-spas' (syrup) .he is discharged but if we stop giving him medications, again fever is rising high, and still, he is stretching his body a lot & not consuming food (millet) and he is soo dull, sleeping a lot. We don't know if it is a side effect of pediasure or anything, please kindly suggest information. It will help us a lot.

Dullness and persistent fever do not appear to be the side effect of pediasure. If the child is dull, sleeping a lot, and not consuming food, then he needs to be checked by a paediatrician.

This is not a side effect of pediasure. Child needs to be evaluated thoroughly by proper history taking and neurological examination to rule out seizures.
