Hi doctor, I am having skin hives, rashes and excessive itching on my whole body just after my second delivery and both of the deliveries were normal though. Now my baby is 3 months old but still I am facing this issue. Please advise me well and I had consulted one of the skin specialists in kanpur (my hometown) and he had prescribed me to take teczine twice a day for a quite long period, so I am taking this medicine since then. Actually I am very much worried about my son because I am breastfeeding him, please help me here.

Dear Lybrate user, hives and rashes and excessive itching are most probably due to allergy to one or more factors -just after delivery--so many hormonal and physiological changes are happening in a lady ---allergy to new items like room dust; cosmetics ; detergents ; food items ; environmental factors like heat ; cold ; pollen grains etc may start in a lady then. If you are lucky enough this unknown allergen may disappear from your viscinity on some day and then you will be free from this allergic problems ---until then--to control allergic process -----always take anti allergic medicines-given by your doctor - at the moment your symptoms start---if you are waiting --the symptoms may aggravate to dangerous levels --- simultaneously you start a scrutiny for the particular food item or items --which cause allergy in her --note the names of such items in a book---where ever you are going--keep that booklet with you and scrutinise the food and other items-- before her use --so that--she will be saved from allercic reactions-- -allergic clinics also can help you in finding out more of her allergens ---------this medicine is not likely to make any problems to your child thr' breast feeding--- -be happy---confident--- optimistic ---accept this small problem as part of life and live with it -i am a doctor of 72 years --living happily with so many allergens ---you also can have a long happy life-- provided you accept and adjust with your allergens ---ok.
