I have done ct scan and dtpa scan for my mother (age 53. Ct scan shows there is stone and dtpa scan shows relative function of left kidney is 0.15% and right 99%. Doctor advised to cut the left kidney? Please advice the right thing.

If left kidney is non functional on DTPA scan and there is persistent pain along with signs of infection then it’s better to get it removed. If there is no pain and no sign of repeated UTI then it can be left as it is.
