Hello my father has been suffering from loose motion since 2018 .after every meal he has to rush toilet. And some days he also feel pain in stomach. He is getting so irritating. In 2019-20 he went to an allopathic doctor and got relief and left medicine .but again after some time he started suffering from this problem. He is taking again medicine of previous doctor but no relief. Pls suggest cure and medicine if possible age 62.

Dear sir please get a few tests done, cbc, tsh, blood sugar, lftand stool r/m if these are fine, please consider a diet change for your father. He will need to reduce dairy and insoluble fiber to start with. He will need to include soluble fiber in his diet. Also, it helps to have small frequent meals rather than large meals. Also, he must exercise for at least 150 minutes per week. These strategies will have long-lasting effects on his ibs, which is what I feel is his problem. Medications can be considered along with diet modifications, but usually, they will not work without lifestyle changes like diet and exercise. Please get back with the reports first and let me know what medicines have been tried so that I may suggest an alternative if required. Take care.

1. by loose motion do you mean waterry stools or formed stools ? 2. if formed stools are coming immediately after food intake could indicate irritable bowel syndrome . 3. if semi solid waterry consistency stools are present , which are foul smelling and passing foul smelling gas , he might have an infection or inflammation . 4. use tablets to reduce this infection and inflammation , his symptoms will improve . 5. revert for treatment .
