I am a 23 year old female, I have had my root canal 4 years back due to a pain in the gum that was caused due to trauma. Now after this many years I got a little bump on the gums of my infected tooth. My doctor has suggested a root canal. How painful is that? I am scared of dentists.

Advise IOPA x-ray. You may need deep cleaning, root canal treatment & capping. Until then Rinse thoroughly with mouth wash. Then apply clove oil on the decayed tooth. Advance painless procedures can be done with laser.

Hello Lybrate user. I advice you to, apply metrogyl ointment in the gums, a pea size of ointment. Apply it on gums for two times a day for, three days. Then take antibiotic and pain killers for three days, then take an xray of that infected teeth and consult me. My code is 2849698e. I will suggest you if root canal treatment is needed. Thank you.
