Hi doctors, from quite a few months there are black patches on my mother's leg below the knees. Initially it had no sensation, but from a few days either she feels muscle pain in that area when she tries to do oil massage there or she feels inflammation when skin gets stretched. Day by day the area has gone darker and darker. Please help and suggest something.

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you. Skin reacts to sunlight by producing more melanin. Some patches of skin may produce melanin in abundance while nearby skin produces less. Getting too much sun is a common cause of dark spots. According to the american academy of dermatology, it's the leading cause for people with light skin. Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.
