I got my blood tested for calcium and uric acid and it showed normal result for calcium 9.1 mg/dl and high for uric acid 7.6 mg/dl. Before doing my blood test, my doctor had recommended me calcium tablets for my back pain and weakness in legs. Shall I continue taking those calcium tablets or its not necessary? I also have bilateral renal concretions in both kidneys and minor spina bifida.

Respected Lybrate user. Please continue your doctor prescribed calcium tablets. If blood calcium levels are normal. Please complete the course. If you're not interested. Take calcium, fibers, proteins in your diet. For consult nutritionist/ dietitian. Please concentrate on your uric acid levels. They severely affected your kidneys. Don't be forget. Don't take chance. Dietary modifications are important.
