Hello. Good noon. The black spots may be dental caries, or flourosis stains or extrinsic stains along with calculus. Send me the intraoral picture and I can suggest the treatment. If it is dental caries, it has to be restored. For fluorosis, bleaching has to be done. For extrinsic stains, scaling has to be done. Intra oral clinical picture is needed to verify the black spot. Thank you.

Hello lybrate-user what your dentist has told is absolutely fine. Teeth cleaning is a very normal procedure that is recommended to be done every 6 months. It will not damage your teeth because it will just remove the external plaque or the calculus deposits that you have gained due to the food intake. Other than that it would be better if you upload the pictures of your teeth so that we can give you a better guidance regarding the proper treatment.

Hello, if those black dots are not deep, and if dentist probe do not get stick in it, till that time you should not worry, but if it does, then you must get them filled if you are talking about black dots on the back teeth top surface. These black dot could be stains as well, but to know better your dentist will move the probe in that surface and if it catches then its a cavity which you need to get it filled and if does not then its a stain which you need not to worry.
