There are three types of pkd.------------ 1. Autosomal dominant pkd (adpkd)-------------- 2. Autosomal recessive pkd (arpkd)----------- 3. Acquired cystic kidney disease (ackd)------------------ pkd is an inherited problem of kidneys and at your age there are more chances of developing adpkd as it accounts for about 90 percent of pkd cases. If one parent has the disorder, the chance of passing it down to their child is 50 percent. Adpkd is sometimes called adult pkd. Symptoms usually develop later in life, between the ages of 30 and 40. However, symptoms can start in childhood. ---------------so if you do not experience any symptoms other than kidney stones since childhood like---------------------- 1. Pain or tenderness in the abdomen--------------- 2. Blood in the urine---------- 3. Frequent urination----------- 4. Pain in the sides---------- 5. Urinary tract infection (uti)------------ other few symptoms include:-------- 6. Pain or heaviness in the back-------- 7. Skin that bruises easily-------- 8. Pale skin color--------- 9 fatigue------- 10. Joint pain---------- 11. Nail abnormalities------------ so Mr. Prakash, if you do not experience any of the above symptoms other than kidney stones, then your are not effected with pkd but you should go for abdomen ultrasound immediately as recurrence of kidney stone is high in your case-------------------
