Hello. Thalassemia is a condition affecting the oxygen carrier in the blood (haemoglobin) thereby causing insufficient oxygen availability to the various organs (anemia). Since hands and feet are the extremities of our body, hence getting the least amount of oxygen. Blood is important for temperature regulation, which is the reason for cold hands and feet. Thal patients have to be given multiple blood transfusion all throughout life. So that is the only option for you to alleviate all your symptoms like tiredness, low bp, cold extremities etc. If you are looking for a permanent solution, then you can go bone marrow transplantation. Kindly consult a hematologist for detailed information and treatment options for you. Also you should consider genetic counselling before getting married, so that your next generation doesn’t get the same condition. Hope this helps. Thank you.
