Hi I am seeking advice for my mother's health condition. One day I randomly checked her blood pressure without any complaints from my mother but I was shocked to see the result which is 180/110. And still, she works normally without any issue. I went to the hospital and they checked they done ecg were no issue found. I came back home and with some prescribed medicines for 5 days. Pla suggests what to do as my mother doesn't have any previous disease. And even with this bp reading, she works normally whole day without any issue her weight is 54 kg, height-4'8"

Firstly it is necessary to know if the bp machine you used at home is reliable. Digital bp machines are highly unreliable. Secondly, a person with high blood pressure need not always show any prominent symptoms until much later and can often ignore minor discomfort. Thirdly, hypertension will not present with ecg changes early until the heart has started to work significantly harder. For the time being, restrict her total salt and fatty food intake throughout the day. More blood parameters needs to be tested and bp measurement repeated with a reliable aneroid or mercury bp apparatus. For more detailed advise and prescription, please have a private consult.
