Hi I have low vision (vi, 40%) since childhood. For my squint eye, I rarely communicate looking straight. Though I listened to others ,i rarely expressed myself frankly. Could hardly make friends & engage in activities with others in school. So, I grown up reserved, quiet. However, the problems I am facing in job interviews, are 1. Feel suppressed nervousness, anxiety. 2. In interviews, while listening to others speeches, I lose my focus, feel confused or feel kind of being mesmerised/ getting lost & forget my points or mess up with points, (sometimes words, syntax); even can't build up my points, feel blank. 3. Though constant practice eased me looking straight, when I consciously look straight to others in formal talks, I feel like getting lost, forgetting & messing up things. Is my vi impacting my personality? How to solve these issues & become more confident, fluent? Please help.

You have come to the wrong place, first of all. This kind of issues definitely can improve with the help of a psychiatrist or psychologist via counselling but it should be in a face to face mode. An intimate session of exchanging information with your doctor is required.

Hello. I can really understand your problem. We have a lot of patients facing personality challenges in day-to-day life to the outside appearance you their eyes. The behavioural part can be taken care of by a trained psychiatrist or psychologist, but I suggest you to get your eyes sorted out first, because that is the root of your problem. An eye doctor will need a lot of information about you first before advising anything. I would like to have a look at your previous photographs. Your childhood, adulthood and then recent picture. This will give me idea about the type of squint you have. Also one would like to know your age before advising any kind of surgery. Did you have glasses before? Were you wearing them regularly? Anyone else in your family has the same issue? Have you tried any orthoptic therapy for your squinting? You can contact me anytime so that we can discuss all these questions in detail and then we can arrive at a treatment plan for you. Hope this helps.
