My jaw is poking outside nd I feel so ugly. Braces can set only my teeth in. What about my upper jaw? The only option is surgery? No other special braces can be worn?

Hi lybrate-user. Some people naturally have jaws either bigger or smaller than what is considered to be normal. If you are concerned about the appearance of your face/ jaw, you can consult an oral and maxillofacial surgeon for an evaluation. After a clinical and radiographic analysis, the conclusions can be drawn as to how much of a correction of the jaws do you require. Usually, in such cases, treatment consists of both, braces as well as surgery. Braces for the correction of the teeth, and surgery for the correction of the jaws. It is known as orthognathic surgery. Depending on the evaluation, you may require surgery of either single jaw or both the jaws. Hope this helps you. Take care.
