My son who is 9 years old has got all his teeth rotten due to bacterial decay as the dentist told. The canines and the incisors had come after falling but the molars amd premolars are still intact and rotten, because of that he is suffering a lot. As he is suffering for quite a few years, we are worried as he is 9 years old and can not eat properly, how long does he have to wait for the teeth to come and is there any cure for such thing. We are ready to do anything to get rid of his suffering.

Kindly get root canal treatment done immediately . Do not wait for the tooth to fall . Posterior milk tooth will fall only at the age from 11 yrs to 14 yrs KEEP YOUR BABY CAVITY FREE. Rampant caries progresses at a faster rate in children and it involves multiple teeth. It?s also called nursing bottle caries as the decay spreads due to feeding milk during the night & putting the baby or children to sleep without brushing. Hence early diagnosis and initiation of preventive and restorative therapies are imperative in its management. Rampant caries can affect the early permanent dentition if the child has improper dietary habits and poor oral hygiene maintenance. DENTAL TIPS: - Brush teeth as soon as the tooth erupts with kids tooth paste & brush. Kids finger brushes are available in the market. Avoid things like licking your baby?s pacifier to clean it. Parents can pass harmful bacteria from their mouth to their children?s mouth, which can put children at an increased risk for cavities. Avoid biting & sharing food. Do not expect your child to brush regularly. Instead its parent?s responsibility to be studious enough to brush your child's teeth twice daily.

Hello lybrate-user ji. please don't worry everything is fine. This problem of tooth decay and pain in children due to that is becoming common nowadays. Actually few teeth in children fall first and few in later ages this has a pattern. Yes I can understand that the posterior teeth are also carious not allowing him to eat properly. Actually these milk teeth molars will fall and new will come around 12 years and more. So there is ample time now. I would suggest you to first of all get an opg xray done which will show all teeth. And then we can discuss which tooth needs treatment and in which we can do restorations so that he can eat nicely. Also if not possible in this covid time just send me photographs of the tooth.
