Hi lybrate-user if it is actually dementia, the neurologist or psychiatrist at aiims would have prescribed you atleast 2-3 medicines to halt the progress of dementia not just daxid. It is a fact that the symptoms or dementia once starts can not be reversed but further deterioration can be slowed with medication/treatment. No doctor would prescribe only daxid for dementia. I would urge to revisit a neurologist or psychiatrist in-person with the patient and discuss the issues so that further management can be planned.
