I am due an ultrasound on my abdomen on the 26th of april. I'm just wondering how successful they are at finding problems and will they be able to view my kidneys on the ultrasound. Thank you for your help.

Ultrasound is a very useful method for finding problems in the abdomen. But it depends on the doctor doing scan, and also the machine used. Most cases kidneys can be seen, and problems such as stones, blockages, tumours etc can be found out. If in case there is a doubt during the scan or your problem persists in-spite of normal scan, you could go for the next step which is a ct scan or mri.
