Hello, i?m a 24 year old female and I have just extracted my lower wisdom tooth 4 weeks ago. The tooth was partially impacted and I had a infection which needed to be removed with it. The dentist did not prescribe me antibiotics until after I removed the stitches which was 2 weeks later. My problem now is after taking the antibiotics and 4 weeks going by, I have a hard lump near my jaw. It does?t really hurt to touch it but it is sensitive. I also am noticing a pimple like structure inside of my mouth. The lump has been there ever since the huge swelling as gone down. But I really don?t see a decrease in size of the hard lump in the past weeks. Also the pimple showed up after I finished taking the antibiotics. As far as pain I do not have any. It?s just discomfort. Why do you think I have this lump? And what should I do? Or how long will it take to heal?

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment (need to look for any residual tooth left behind after tooth removal). You may need medicated pack, currettage & irrigation of the extracted site by a dentist. Rinse frequently with mouth wash.
