Hi I have been advised to use medrol 16 mg for my throat itching .but I suffer from depression after I have used it for 3 days course my doctor asked me to stop it. But I read that it should not be suddenly stopped and there should be tapering of dosage is it required and also when I started this medication I have small baby I have given him mmr +opv vaccine I also heard we should not be in contact with them when we are on steroids .now will it give me any infection and also will I need tampering of the dose or should I stop it ?plz reply I am really worried alot.

If you have taken more than 5 days we need to taper the dose before stopping. But you took for 3 days if am not wrong stooping immediately has no health issues. For throat irritation do salt water gargling every 6th hour. Consume only lukewarm water. If you do not have temperature of cough the above is enough. Baby care is mostly difficult task we need to more hygienic so we do not transfer infection to them. If your feeling sick better avoid contact with them. Otherwise also wash hands with soap water do not use sanitizing agents as they may cause allergy to kids.
