I have been getting treated for fungal infection, which I got from my ex-partner, its been more than a year now it has not been cured with the treatment, started with alcros+lulifin+fungicros then it is always increasing and decreasing the time it is applied or taken, also used dermitraz. But the result is not there, doctor says it goes, I do not know should I believe him or not. I would request any honest doctor just tell me, is it curable from its root, or I have to stay with it lifelong, I am really very frustrated and upset. I want to move on in my life, but I do not want this to spread somebody else. Please help with honest answer. Thank you in advance.

Hi. Fungal infection is completely curable disease. It's course has to be continued 2 weeks beyond the resolution of signs and symptoms. Don't leave the treatment before that. And also maintain hygiene which is equally important to medicines.

Fungal infection is totally curable .yeah it's stubborn sometimes and when you use over the counter medications it takes really long to go off .but with proper hygiene and other things with advice from a board certified dermatologist can really help you to get rid of it .ps you hv to be religious in your follow ups and have patience.

Hi. No need to worry because this fungal infection is absolutely curable. U have to take regular oral medication for 1 month and topical for 1 to 2 months. Now a days patients are developing resistance to itraconazole (alcros, dermitraz)so if you are not getting any better with this and the condition stil persists then a full course of tab griseofulvin can be tried. But its not that once you are treated you will not suffer from this condition again in your lifetime, but of course there will not be any recurrence maintain hygiene, keep the area clean and dry. Thanks.
