Namaste doctor I experienced 2 nail scratches on face on june 20 till now i'm under medication my doctor recommended me to use momerex cream, momerex f and regen d im using it but I heard these are steroid creams is it safe to use? I already told my doctor that some kind of brown and blackish is getting around the wound she said no problem there are creams for that as well my doubt here is do these minor scratches (of rice grain size) which are not deep at all heal? Come in normal skin colour at least within 6 months of time doctor?

Hello hope you are keeping safe 1) I understand your concern about these nail scratches you are having, but by reading your brief history it looks like a very superficial wound with minor change of skin color / so dark spot. Kindly be advised that for such minor bruises, steroid application may not be indicated and definitely not for a long period of time. 2) please understand that any hyperpigmentation / hypopigmentation of skin would revert back on its own to normal skin within 6- 12 months of time. 3) however if you are looking out for safer profile medications that help with the dark spots you can safe use creams like kojic acid, acelaic acid or glycolic acid. 4) kindly refrain from using steroidal creams for a long period of time as it can lead to many side effects like - - fine wrinkling / striae - hyperpigmentation/ hypopigmentation - rashes - acne breakouts - thinning if skin tissue - lichenification/ thinkening of skin tissue - localised hair growth - easy bruises - enlarged superficial blood vessels/ telengectasia so if you have got your benefits from the cream, or the lesions are not improving, it is advised to look out for alternatives hope your query is cleared.
