I am 23 Old Male. I had continuous fever every evening for about 3 days. So went to see a doctor. So as per doctor, did a CBC, Widal, Malarial Parasite Test. I had elevated wbc count of 15100 initially, typhoid o was 1: 80. Doctor prescribed me a cefixime tablet for 5 days as he told its a bacterial infection. After 5th day, I took CBC again and found that my wbc count has increased to 16000 and sgpt was 131, typhoid o and h were 1: 80 and ESR of 58. Doctor suggested to get admitted to hospital and I was on piptaz iv antibiotics for 3 days. Eventually they discharged me because my wbc was back to normal 9800, although sgpt was slightly higher to 150. Just did a fever profile test today. Found out that wbc count has again increased to 15900 and ESR to 62. Widal test is all negative, urine has some bile pigments, bile salts, pus cells and epithelial cells. I had slight fever as well. But it has been decreasing gradually. Also, it seems this cefixime tablets are causing me chest burns and acidity. Please suggest the cause of again increase in wbc count and esr.
