I am 26 years of age and I was exposed to hiv positive patient through unprotected sex so I realised and I went to clinician within the same hour and I was tested for hiv which I was negative so I was prescribed pep regimen of lamivudine/zidovudine with lopinavir/ritonavir so I took this combination for 3 weeks but I was having severe side effects and the regimen was changed for me into tenofovir disoproxil fumarate/lamivudine/efavirenz which am currently taking so I want to be sure whether pep will still work effective as the regimen has been changed. Thanks.

Both pep regimens are wrong. The first obe is outdated and second one makes you crazy. It seems you have been misguided or the physician you attended to is unaware of newer treatments and latest guidelines. To better understand the risk and consequences please take private consult with audio video chat and then I can guide you properly and explain you what is to be done.
