My wife, aged 57 feels very hot during summer (sometimes unbearable) and in winters, she feels very cold. This has started after her uterus was removed about 10 years back. What is the reason and the treatment of the same.

Dear, From the symptoms you have mentioned it looks like, may be having a problem related to low estrogen levels following the removal of her uterus. These symptoms are called vasomotor symptoms, which last for approximately 7 to 8 years following the surgery. Estrogen therapy is required during this phase to minimize the symptoms. Transdermal metered estrogen sprays are available which can benefit. For more information please contact my team. Schedule an appointment here on Lybrate
