I am writing for my wife. We had the pregnancy strip test positive two days back. When we consulted a gynecologist she prescribed tablet susten sr 300 mg for one week. Is it used during the beginning of pregnancy period. I have found it is tablet of progesterone. Can you explain why it is used when the we have found the pregnancy test is positive.

The tablet is helpful in early pregnancy especially up to 12 weeks to maintain your pregnancy without a miscarriage. In case of luteal phase defect or previous miscarriage or if something abnormal we find in USG it's given. it's safe u can use them

This tablet help in the continuation of the pregnancy. During pregnancy, progesterone is produced but this gives some extra supports to sustain pregnancy. No harm with the tablet so trust your doctor and take it regularly but take it bedtime as this tablet can cause slight dizziness. So avoid taking it during day time.
