I have been on paroxetine 75 mg and olanzapine 5 mg a day, in connection with anxiety and dysphoria. I was still feeling low on these medications and needed an addition. We tried a lot of antidepressants and antipsychotic but none of those worked on me. Thus my doctor increased paroxetine to 100 mg and after much thought has put me recently on arcalion (sulbutiamine) 200 mg a day. I just wish to know, how many days are enough for "arcalion 200" to show effectiveness? How long shall I wait? Thank you.

Arcalion or sulbutiamine 200 mg is a nutritional supplement which is a derivative of a b vitamin called thiamine. It is used to increase energy in depression and other conditions among other symptoms. It usually take 2-3 days to start working if it is the deficiency of this nutrient that is making you feel this way. I think that you might need a second opinion based on the medications that were prescribed for anxiety and dysphoria i.e. Paroxetine and olanzapine. I hope you can do so online privately as soon as possible. Look forward to hearing from you.
