I am 36 yr/m. Divorced 2 years ago. The zest, clarity of thoughts,& initiative is missing pre & post divorce. Sometimes I am happy & confident and sometimes just the opposite. I was consulting a psychiatrist, the results were temporary. Discontinued treatment as the medicines didn't work. I am in media, however lost job recently & career ain't smooth. Thankfully, my family is supportive. My thoughts, moods, action are not in sync with each other & am lazy. However my social behavior is normal. I request your advice in embracing a happy life.

Dear lybrate-user, I do not think you need psychiatric treatment at all. Divorce is almost equivalent to separation and due to that it is quite natural to have stress, disappointment and frustration. These three causes lack of interest, self respect and self confidence. Naturally the symptoms of your description manifests. It might take some time to you to come back to your original self
