Me 40 year old having 13 week pregnancy. Penta marker result are t21-1: 245, t18& t13 - 1: 100000. Nipt test done. Result awaited. The penta marker report in the end suggest that positive result doesn't mean that fetus is affected and similarly negative also doesn't fetus is unaffected. My friend had also 1: 66 in t21 in penta test but her nipt report was fine and so his baby now. Her percentage of abnormalities was 1.52%(1/66) where as my percentage is 0.41%(1/245). Can I hope same thing in my case. Really confused regarding sanctity of this test. I believe in 100% case there is always a risk to the tune of 1% then what is usage of this test. Should I really worry about these test reports? What are the other test (not amniocentesis as you know it carry chance of miscarriage) to which I resort to apart from nipt to be sure of.
