I am a 57 mtf transsexual without have srs. I am using a modified 16f catheter to hold open my sphincters to cause total incontinence. Everything was done under sterile conditions. Once catheter was inserted and balloon filled my penis was pushed back and a locking forceps was put on the catheter to seal it and hold in place. Catheter was cut short, inflation tube was plugged and a retrieval line attached. Once the forceps were released the catheter and line was pulled into my body to rest just on the other side of my balls. Everything is working fine and urine is dribbling. Urine is, well urine colored (no cloudiness or strong smell), there is no pain, bladder spams, or utis. There is no blockage of the lumen as urine output has remained constant. Also it is comfortable (cannot feel it). Some reading I have been doing suggest to change the catheter every 4 weeks. Others say every 12 weeks. Lately there are those that say unless there is an obstruction, blockage, or infection not to change it. So my question is how long do I leave it in? Reason I ask as I am going into my 4th month.

There is actually no need to change unless it is blocked o infected. However long term use of the one catheter needs to be avoided and hence you can change it every one or two months.
