I am 26 years men, So I am taking lorazepam last 7 months for ocd problem it safe or risky? Please suggest me.

Lorazepam is a benzodiazepine which used for sleep and anxiety. This is not a core treatment option for ocd however it helps in reducing anxiety associated with ocd. Lorazepam also cause dependence when used for long duration. Please consult a psychiatrist for detail discussion and evaluation of your condition, so that the diagnosis of your problem is confirmed and based on that treatment past can be modified. Dear lybrate-user, lorazepam is not a medicine for ocd. It is risky to take for such a long time. It may cause withdrawal symptoms, if you have become dependent on it. Please consult a psychiatrist who will prescribe ssri group of drugs for ocd depending on your tolerability.
