My 18 years boy is suffering from mood disorder and emotional disorder sometimes and also 10% learning disability but he is smart for looking and other times he is very quite. In the time of moodout he willnot obey parents and very angry to his 9 years old sister. What is his problem i saw many doctors but do not identify anything. MRA scan take last month (i saw a neurologist) but according to the scan doctor said no problems. He prescribe piracetam 800. Doctor please tell me can cure my boy ?what is his problem? Which is the best treatment?in future he can forward normal life? Iam an indian help me

Learning disability means difficulties in reading or writing or doing maths . Because of failure to fulfil ur or his goal will produce disappointment , leads to depression. No need of any medication now. But he can be given remedial education which help him to overcome learning disability. GOI gives some exemption in examination. Go to near by regional medical board for getting benefit. Itstead of fixing targets , encourage his even a small performance

Your son could be suffering from teenagers mood swings. As a parent you need to be sensitive to his needs and give him the space that he needs now.He's in a bad mood and you want him to obey you? Instead try to understand the reasons for his mood swings and be like an understanding friend to him. His anger with your daughter also can be explored. He can see a counsellor and so can you to help you bridge the communication gap. I don't see the need to see a doctor unless a psychiatric or a special needs issue is identified.
