Hello lybrate-user, you can use any paste of your choice if you don't have any particular problem like gums swelling, bleeding or sensitivity. Pastes act as a medium to brush/clean your teeth. The thing which matter the most is way of brushing. You brush your teeth from all surfaces thoroughly two times a day. Teeth usually have three visible surfaces, front, back and top, you brush your teeth from all these three surfaces. By adopting this technique you can maintain your teeth health really well and please do not forget to see your dentist at least once in 6 months. Best wishes.

Toothpaste doesn't matter much. Brush and technique matters.
Any toothpaste is good for that matter, brush twice daily after meals, visit to a dentist once every 6 months is a must.
