Hi, I am 6 weeks pregnant. My doctor told me to have folic acid tablets before 5 month of conception. I used to take it but not regularly, I used eat for a month and then forget to eat, the next month. So, I was irregular in eating the tablets. Someone, told me that folic acid, helps in baby's brain development, so I am worried, whether my irregular eating of folic acid tablets will affect my baby's intelligence or in brain development?

Relax. Do not worry. Its not so late. Take your medicine properly for nowonwards. Most of d ladies came to know their pregnancy at 6 weeks. Nature itself has maintained a balance of nutrients among the mother and the fetus. So, be cool. your baby will be absolutely intelligent. Actually folic acid helps in the development of nervous system not the intelligency. Level 2 usg will be advised to you as routine by your gynaec in second trimester. It will further confirm the gud fetal development of your baby.
