I'm 24 years old female married for past 9 months. I have a dream career, UPSC. So regarding having a child I have never given a serious thought as I always felt that cracking upsc would be impossible with a child. But anyhow as I have started my preparation this late, I won't be able to wait until my chances are over as I would be over 30 by then. I have given myself ample time until age limit and no of attempts as I'm quite serious on my aim. I thought that some where in middle of the preparation I shall have a child so that I would be able to build a strong foundation before that. But now thinking on the practical side. I feel that it is better to have the baby before I seriously start preparing. So that I won't have a break in midway and also it's the best time to have a baby. I'm really confused In the family, everything is left to my choice. What should I do?

Dear lybrate-user, You are now 24 and just 9 months old married lady. Have patience. And if parents are supporting you in your career growth then go ahead and prepare yourself for the HIGHEST AIM. MAY be in Kerala ladies are supposed to begot a baby in her early 20's.and soon after the marriage. But if you see by the age graph, you have still time to have a baby .if the goal is as big as UPSC. GO AHEAD WITH YOUR GOAL. And if you don't reach that goal by the age of 28. You can think of conceiving. Good luck.
