Dear Doctor, Off-late there is so much interest and forced marketing of normal foods under the name super-foods , gluten free food etc. Is there any rationale in taking these foods for well being or weight reduction or its a simple marketing gimmick. Pl advise. Thanks

That's a good question in the first place. While there are a lot of marketing gimmicks pertaining to these and lot other foods such as biscuits, breads, Maggi and the likes. But never the less a person having issues like gluten sensitivity also known as celiac disease and others need such gluten free foods. As long as super foods are concerned they do have their own significance and one can consume for the well being. Few examples of super foods are soy, spinach, sesame and the likes.
