Treatment for Cold Allergies. Treatment of cold urticaria involves avoiding the cold, when possible, and taking antihistamines. The antihistamines are best taken before exposure to cold temperatures to block some of the histamine release. Many of the over-the-counter antihistamines interfere with learning. Fluids keep the throat moist and prevent dehydration. Avoid caffeine and alcohol, which can dehydrate you. Try comforting foods and beverage. Warm liquids ? broth, caffeine-free tea or warm water with honey ? and cold treats such as ice pops can soothe a sore throat.
