My father had accidentally knocked himself on his head on an iron gate. There's redness and swelling on that part of his head. And there's a superficial cut, 1 cm in diameter, 1-2 mm deep. He had applied ice immediately so there was no bleeding. But he forgot to take a tetanus shot. Now it's almost 60 hrs and he took a shot just now. But will this be effective since 48 hours have already elapsed. He doesn't remember when was the last time he had taken a tetanus shot although he's sure that he has taken one definitely within last 5 years. He has been taking paracetamol 1000 mg tds and Pan-D twice. Now he's complaining of mild nausea. He's hypochondriac as well. I'm really worried about his taking a tetanus shot after 60 hours.
