I am 60 years old. My health is ok, I undergo pathology tests every six months. My reports are ok except slight elevation in bilirubin total which is 1.61 mg/dl and bilirubin indirect is 1.42 mg/dl as per latest test report. My HB is 15.3. My digestion is fine, have strong hunger for both meals, no symptom of jaundice. I am vegetarian and my B12 vitamin is 170 which is also deficient. Kindly advise what to do to lower bilirubin. It is gradually elevating since last 3 years.

AS you said the increased appetite or hunger warrants excluding diabetes and thyroid disorders and you need to do FBS, HbA1C and the increase in bilirubin is minimal and is fine. You have have a chance of obstructive ju=sundice and need checkup in that line Elevated levels may indicate liver damage or disease. Higher than normal levels of direct bilirubin in your blood may indicate your liver isn't clearing bilirubin properly. Elevated levels of indirect bilirubin may indicate other problems.
